Corte Farina

A hidden courtyard market where Veronesi buy their daily food. Tourists walk past the archway without entering

Best Time to VisitDuring market hours (Mon–Sat morning)
Suggested Duration20–30 minutes

Sixty metres from Piazza delle Erbe, there's a covered courtyard that doesn't appear on tourist maps. Corte Farina is a historic market court with three archway entrances off side streets — you enter through an arch and find yourself in a quiet enclosed space with market stalls, a small bar with outdoor tables, local cheese sellers and a pasta maker. The Veronesi do their daily food shopping here. The contrast with the tourist-priced stalls in Piazza delle Erbe, one minute's walk away, is complete. This is what the city looked like before the souvenir economy.

Visitor Tip

Enter through one of the three archways off Via Stella or Via Rosa. The covered market inside sells local cheeses, salumi, and fresh pasta. The Veronesi do their daily shopping here — it's not staged for tourists.
